Amber Ryan Lockhart was born in Cape Town, South Africa. She currently resides in Murray, Kentucky, with her husband, where she completed her BFA in Graphic Design and Metalsmithing. Having been raised amongst creatives in a Montessori style, she creates intuitively in many fields, with her work spanning multiple mediums and industries. Coming out of high school, she entered the Cape Town film industry and soon found herself working on her most prominent advert for Carlsberg International. Having established an interest in film and photography, she completed a photography course through the Orms Cape Town School of Photography before enrolling to complete her BFA at Murray State University. Amber’s work considers the inherent sexism held by women, shown by how we treat the women around us. She has had works in the OMAS Shows (2022, 2024, 2025) in the Clara M. Eagle Gallery at Murray State, Professional Blend XV Group Show in the Mary Ed Mecoy Hall Gallery, Health in Enamel at the Memphis Metal Museum, The University Open at the LexArts Gallery, and the Murray Art Guild Members Exhibition at the Janice Mason Art Museum in Cadiz.
